'Alli could go to the very, very top' - Souness

Ex-Liverpool captain Graeme Souness tipped the new England international for stardom following another impressive performance for Tottenham in the north London derby
Graeme Souness believes Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has the potential to reach "the very, very top" following his performance against Arsenal on Sunday.

Alli has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past three months, making his England debut in October less than a month after he was handed his first Premier League start following his move from League One side MK Dons.

The 19-year-old was in impressive form once again in Spurs' 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, and ex-Liverpool captain Souness has tipped him for stardom.

"Eight games, 19 years old and he looks like he's playing there for five or six years," former Liverpool midfielder Souness told Sky Sports.

He added: "He's got enough aggression, great technique, he's not frightened to get on the ball in big games - this is arguably the biggest game he's played in - and all at 19.

"How good could he become? Bar an injury and if he's a boy who wants to keep learning, he could go to the very, very top."

Alli has featured in all but one of Tottenham's Premier League fixtures this season, playing a crucial role in the climb of Mauricio Pochettino's men to fifth.
